The Global Impact Award competition is now accepting applications. Deadline to apply is Noon CDT, March 19, 2018.

Logo and graphic for WasU 2018 Global Impact Awards Now in its fifth year, the 2018 Suren G. Dutia & Jas K. Grewal Global Impact Award is a business plan competition open to Washington University ventures using technology to solve real-world problems. Provided by and named for Washington University alumnus Suren G. Dutia and his wife Jas K. Grewal, the award is intended to inspire the interdisciplinary expansion of entrepreneurship and innovation at Washington University in St. Louis.

To be eligible, teams must include at least one WashU undergrad, graduate or professional student, resident, postdoctoral researcher, or alumnus (graduated within ten years). Finalists receive mentoring and networking support and the chance to win up to $50,000 to further develop their sustainable ventures. Applications are due by noon on March 19th, 2018. Winners will be selected at the final event October 29th, 2018.

2017 winners were Genoscopy, a medical venture that uses noninvasive diagnostic tests to combat gastrointestinal diseases, and Strayos, a venture that employs 3D technology that helps mining and quarry engineers obtain site data for material extraction.
