On Friday, February 23, 2018, Cortex will host their 4th Annual Startup Talent Showcase.

The Showcase is a curated event that brings together pre-vetted talent and startups with the goals of attracting and retaining entrepreneurial talent to the region and connecting them with the city’s startup ecosystem.

Job candidates are students and recent graduates from regional universities. Candidates are selected based on entrepreneurial drive, skill set, and experience, as well as their interest in working at a startup or innovative company.

The Startup Talent Showcase uses a pitch format and the PluggedIN platform. PluggedIN connects job seekers to opportunities with startups and business units within growing companies. The company was founded by Colleen Jenkins, who is also the CEO. Prior to founding PluggedIN, Colleen was Head of Talent Acquisition at Cultivation Capital. Currently, she is Entrepreneurship Career Advisor at Olin Business School.

The event is comprised of two segments:

Individuals seeking full-time positions

The Morning Showcase is for individuals seeking full-time positions. Companies seeking full-time employees and contractors for various positions, both technical and non-technical, will be looking for job seekers with technical skills and/or previous startup experience. Check-in is at 9 a.m. and the Showcase begins at 10 a.m. Only full-time-job seekers may attend the Morning Showcase.

College students seeking internships

The Afternoon Showcase is for college students seeking internships. Participating companies will be seeking interns and current college students for spring & summer internships in St. Louis. Check-in is at 1 p.m. and the Showcase begins at 2 p.m. Only college students may attend the Afternoon Showcase.
