WashU’s Skandalaris Center for Interdisciplinary Innovation & Entrepreneurship has two upcoming events of particular interest to women and other underrepresented entrepreneurs.
OWNING YOUR GRIT is a panel discussion with author Jennifer Bardot and a few of the women featured in her book, “Owning Your G.R.I.T: 40 Women’s Stories of Harnessing the Power of Growth, Resilience, Intention, and Tenacity.” Jennifer and her fellow panelists, all based in St. Louis, hold leadership positions in fields ranging from banking to consulting to business ownership to the nonprofit sector. MAKING CAPITAL FRIENDLY (AND ACCESSIBLE) is focused on understanding financial capital and how to access it. Brown School Professor Heather Cameron will share her research and the impact that capital (and access to it) has on underrepresented entrepreneurs. Wells Fargo’s Judith Goldkrand will discuss the basic types of capital and how underrepresented entrepreneurs can access it. The event also will include Simon Initiative founder and award-winning author Dr. Andi Simon. This is an online event.
