The Office of Technology Management (OTM) is now accepting applications from WashU faculty, staff, and students for the summer semester WashU-sponsored TechShop membership. TechShop is a community-based workshop and prototyping studio on a mission to democratize access to the tools of innovation. Packed with cutting-edge tools, equipment, and computers loaded with design software featuring the Autodesk Design Suite, they offer the space to make, and the support and camaraderie of a community of makers.

“Problem, Passion, Plan” – the foundations of every entrepreneur’s or small business owner’s journey. Join The BALSA Foundation, BioSTL and Center for Emerging Technologies (CET) for an evening of exploration and hands-on learning on how to get your journey started. Antionette Carroll President and Founder of Creative Reaction Lab will start us off with an overview of the ideation process, or how one comes up with business ideas. This will be followed by a small group activity to get your problem-solving, solution-finding muscles warmed up. The evening will wrap-up with the opportunity to meet the program managers and volunteers who are ready and willing to help you take your own idea to the next level. Highly recommended for dreamers, doers and the entrepreneurially curious of all ages and backgrounds who want to get connected, hone their skills and/or get serious about vetting their business idea.
